About & Submission Policy

About Marsh

Marsh is a hand-maintained web directory. Every website listed here was individually submitted by its owner and reviewed before being added. We do not crawl the web or accept automated submissions — each of our 833 entries was placed by a person who chose to list their site with us.

How the Directory Is Arranged

Marsh is organised into 22 sections covering a wide range of topics, from building trades and dental practice to independent media and the open web. Each section has its own editorial character: some run to over a hundred entries, others to fewer than ten. The sections reflect the natural distribution of submissions we receive rather than any attempt to impose a rigid taxonomy on the web.

Submitting a Site

Submit your site using the form on the Submit page. Choose the section that best fits your site, enter your URL, and optionally add a title and description. If you leave the description blank, Marsh will automatically fetch one from your site's metadata. Submission is free and requires no account.

Our Listing Standards

Marsh accepts websites across a wide range of topics. We do not list sites that are non-functional, consist entirely of scraped content, or exist solely to redirect elsewhere without offering any distinct value. Duplicate domains are automatically prevented. We reserve the right to remove any listing that no longer meets our basic standards, though our aim is to keep the directory as open and inclusive as possible. If your site was removed and you believe this was in error, please contact us directly.
